Take It With You!
During this series please consider reading through the first three chapters of Revelation daily with your family or on your own. After each sermon, questions will be provided to guide your reading and prayer time. God's blessings in your study!
1. Though the church in Pergamum faced many attacks from the devil, they remained faithful. How can we be equipped to take on the attacks of the devil? See Romans 8:28-39 and Ephesians 6:10-20
2. In Revelation 2:14 Jesus talks about the story of Balaam and Balak. You can read this story in Numbers 22-25. The result of these men being in Israel was false worship where worship of the one true God was mixed with worship of the false god Baal. This episode resulted in tragedy. Why do you think God takes false worship so seriously? What are some of the false gods we see worshipped in our society?
3. Christ tells the church that if they do not repent he will fight against them with the sword of his mouth, that is, his judgement (Revelation 2:16). When we consider our sinful lives in light of God's demanding laws we may feel guilty. According to Paul, there is some benefit to this guilt. Read 2 Corinthians 7:10 and Galatians 3:24-26 to find out what that is!
