Take It With You!
During this series please consider reading through the first three chapters of Revelation daily with your family or on your own. After each sermon, questions will be provided to guide your reading and prayer time. God's blessings in your study!
1. When reading the book of Revelation, it is always helpful to read it in light of the Gospel of St. John. While reading Revelation 3:7-13, read John 10:1-33. How does this help you understand the letter to Philadelphia better?
2. Jesus never promises to remove us from trials and struggles in this life. What comfort do you find in Revelation 3:10? (Read this verse in light of John 17:15).
3. Here in Revelation Jesus says that He holds the keys to open and close the doors to heaven. In other words, Jesus has control over who enters heaven and who doesn't. Read John 3:16-17. To whom did Jesus come to give eternal life? Who will enter into this eternal glory and why (see Ephesians 2:8-9)? Who will be locked out (see Revelation 21:8)?
4. Jesus says He is coming soon. This means that He could return at any moment. As Christians, we are prepared for this day because Christ has saved us. But not everyone is prepared because they don't believe the Gospel. We must remember how urgent a matter evangelism is! Today is the day of salvation, so let us tell others the good news!
