Take It With You!

During this series please consider reading through the first three chapters of Revelation daily with your family or on your own. After each sermon, questions will be provided to guide your reading and prayer time. God's blessings in your study!

1. Many people today have a hard time believing that Jesus is God. In Revelation 3:14, Jesus says that he is the beginning or source of all creation (Note: Your translation may say "ruler of God's creation." "Ruler" is a bad translation, the word here means source or beginning). God alone can be the source of creation, so Jesus is claiming to be God! See also these verses: John 20:27-29, Romans 9:5, Colossians 1:15-23.

2. Jesus is upset with the church in Laodicea because of their trust in their wealth. It is not that being wealthy is necessarily sinful, but the problem arises when we put our faith, hope, and love in our money and not Jesus it becomes detrimental to our faith. Read I Timothy 6:6-19. What dangers come from the love of money? What might you have to repent of in this area?

3. This is the last of the seven letters to the churches in the book of Revelation. As you read through the seven letters, which one is the most convincing to you? Which one is the most comforting? What have you learned about Christ and faith in this series?
