Ventura County Tier

The state of California has developed a tier based color system to determine the restrictions on gathering for different areas of the economy. You can find out more on the website covid19.ca.gov/safer-economy.

For churches, this is how the color codes break down:

  • WIDESPREAD (purple) - outdoor only
  • SUBSTANTIAL (red) - indoor with 25% capacity or 100, whichever is less.
  • MODERATE (orange) - indoor with 50% capacity or 200, whichever is less.
  • MINIMAL (yellow) - indoor with 50% capacity

Color Tiers

The tier risk level is defined as follows:

  • WIDESPREAD (purple) - more than 7 new cases (per 100k), positive tests above 8%
  • SUBSTANTIAL (red) - 4 to 7, 5 to 8%
  • MODERATE (orange) - 1 to 3.9, 2 to 4.9%
  • MINIMAL (yellow) - less than 1, less than 2%
